NDEDIC NeXT: Exploring the Role of A.I. in the Dental Industry
NDEDIC is excited to announce that it will hold the next quarterly installment of NDEDIC NeXT, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm EST. NDEDIC NeXT is an ongoing series of FREE, interactive online gatherings that highlight NDEDIC's efforts to unite all dental stakeholders in support of elevating the exchange and usage of standard electronic transactions and digital information across the dental ecosystem. Our Q1 2024 session will place the spotlight on the role of artificial intelligence within the dental industry. NDEDIC's Work Group 3 will provide an overview of our new technical guidance document focusing on A.I. Processes in Claim Review. Other Work Group leaders will offer brief updates on their recent efforts, and our Education/Conference Committee will preview the upcoming 2024 Summit, scheduled for May 6-8, 2024 in Nashville. Whether you're a long-time NDEDIC member or completely new to the industry, we want you to be a part of this event. Work Group Spotlight: NDEDIC Work Group 3 - The Role of A.I. in Claims Processing NDEDIC's newest Work Group is responsible for defining a mechanism to annotate a claim related to whether Claim Review was performed, by whom it was reviewed, identification of the review's details, and the review summary's recommendation. Work Group 3 will also define a mechanism to return the same information in responses to claims (claim status or ERA), define identities of claim reviewers (A.I. processes, human reviewers, etc.), and explore the creation of technical guidance documents and registries. The Work Group's leadership will summarize progress made to date and discuss upcoming initiatives, including NDEDIC's newly released technical guidance document entitled, "NDEDIC Claim Review Status Annotation Guide - Companion to the X12/005010X224A2 Health Care Claim: Dental (837)."
